Fishermen Answering the Call For Help in Down East Communities
We are a month late sharing this article but we still like to highlight our fishermen in any way we can!
After Hurricane Florence hit last month, Commercial and Charter Fishermen who were not affected answered the call for help to those who were affected in Down East Carteret County. Fishermen came Down East from the northern coastal communities bringing supplies, tarps, heavy equipment and boats to help those in distress from the storm. Seafood companies also offered freezer space for those who lost power to try to save their products. Drop locations were made all over the coast to help our friends Down East offering any needs that could be met. There were relief funds set in place and may still be in place if you are interested in donating.
