HB442 IS DEAD!
Democracy in Action
Thanks to passion and dedication of consumers, shrimpers, restaurants, and retail markets owners, the House will not taking up HB442 this legislative session, effectively crippling the bill for now.
We are so grateful for the common sense of lawmakers, the outpouring of support from seafood lovers and the commercial fishing community, and an outcome that is for now, a victory.

SUPPORT
We work to bring fishermen, consumers, seafood dealers and scientists together to learn from each other and create new opportunities that will keep North Carolina seafood on tables from the mountains to the sea. We’d love for you to get involved.

"I want to encourage people to go into their local markets and ask for North Carolina seafood, and support our local fishermen and women."
— Sharon Peele Kennedy, Hatteras Island author of cookbook What's for Supper?
